North Ayr

North Ayr Parish Church

About North Ayr

North Ayr Parish Church  was formed by the successful union of the churches from Newton Wallacetown, St James and St Quivox. Prior to this, Newton Wallacetown had taken on the responsibility of Lochside Community Church, from Ayr: St Columba.

We meet in the former Newton Wallacetown buildings located on Main Street, which is within walking distance of Ayr town centre. Around 80+ people gather for worship each Sunday morning. Sunday services are held at 11am combining the best of traditional and modern worship.

Music is provided by our Musical Director/Organist who is often accompanied by a Praise band, led by Joyce Fenton. Between them, they fit the music to the theme of worship. We also use multi-media which certainly enhances the worship experience.

Our service starts at 11am in the main church building, all ages come together for the first part of the service, which usually starts with any church notices, some time of worship and a kids talk. The children are then invited to go to their activities in Sunday School. If you have children under 3 we have a creche facility available from the start of the service but you are welcome to join in the first part of the service.

We have a wide variety of ministries within our church which serve both the church and local community. There is something for everyone. From kids and youth to groups which tackle social isolation everyone is welcome at North Ayr Parish Church.

Kids Ministry

We have lots of different events for children during the week and also on a Sunday Morning.

Tuesdays - Rainbows, Brownies & Guides

Wednesdays - Girls' Brigade

RoomSixty Youth Project

RoomSixty is our youth outreach programme. The youth drop-in centre is open to young people during the week, our youth worker is involved in schools work, mentoring and many other initiatives.

Bible Study

Living life as a Christian can sometimes be difficult. Our Bible Study groups are here to help you engage with God's Word, learn from others and support each other in our walk with God.

Mens Outreach Group

Quite often men are at their happiest, meeting with friends to enjoy events such as curry nights or Italian nights. Men should be able to meet on a fairly regular basis for a variety of activities, and we should aim to actively promote these to friends to come along and join us.

Around 20 men meet on the last Thursday of every second month at various restaurants around Ayr and share a meal and fellowship, and get to know each other a little more.

Telephone Prayer Chain

North Ayr Parish Church Prayer Chain is comprised of members who believe wholeheartedly that prayer is an effective means of communication with God. Individually, and collectively they will pray on behalf of those who have requested prayer either for themselves or others. Requests are always treated confidentially and new prayer requests are always warmly welcomed.

Friendship Club

This group was established in February 2017 to provide older adults with an opportunity to meet their friends and form new relationships with others over a cup of tea.

We meet in Hall A between 1.30 and 3.30pm on Friday afternoons throughout the year. There is an average attendance of 22-24 people (men and women) who enjoy a good blether and sometimes take part in quizzes.

The Guild

The Guild at North Ayr Parish Church meets each Thursday and has a programme of events including speakers and activities for members.

Guild members are actively

involved in fundraising for various charitable causes.
