Business and Nomination Committee
The remit of the Business and Nomination Committee is:
- Preparing the agenda for Presbytery Meetings in consultation with the Clerk
- Arranging both Ordinary and Specific Purpose meetings
- Allocation of Remits from General Assembly
- Nomination of Moderator, Clerk, and Treasurer;
- Nomination of Conveners, Vice Conveners and members of Standing Committees;
- Nomination of Additional, Corresponding and Co-opted Members;
- Nomination of Commissioners to the General Assembly and Commission of Assembly and Presbytery representatives on other bodies.
- Considering the Assembly Trustees Report
- Annual Inspection of Congregational records
- Oversight of safeguarding procedures
- Oversight of operating policies and procedures
- Appointment of Independent Examiner to review presbytery accounts and to receive his/her Report
- Any Business not falling under the remit of any other Standing Committee
Delegated Powers:
- The Committee shall have full authority to act on behalf of presbytery in respect of the above
