The remit of the Business and Nomination Committee is:

• Preparing the agenda for Presbytery Meetings in consultation with the Clerk
• Arranging both Ordinary and Specific Purpose meetings
• Allocation of Remits from General Assembly
• Nomination of Moderator, Clerk, and Treasurer;
• Nomination of Conveners, Vice Conveners and members of Standing Committees;
• Nomination of Additional, Corresponding and Co-opted Members;
• Nomination of Commissioners to the General Assembly and Commission of Assembly and Presbytery representatives on other bodies.
• Considering the Assembly Trustees Report
• Annual Inspection of Congregational records
• Oversight of safeguarding procedures
• Oversight of operating policies and procedures
• Appointment of Independent Examiner to review presbytery accounts and to receive his/her Report
• Any Business not falling under the remit of any other Standing Committee

Delegated Powers:

• The Committee shall have full authority to act on behalf of presbytery in respect of the above
